Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in the Fields Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure block irrigation cycle activities are carried out according to the approved schedule.
• Order and monitor weekly water requirements for the assigned blocks.
• Coordinate and supervise weed control programmes.
• Supervise fertilizer application activities as recommended.
• Supervise smut rouging operations to maintain crop health standards.
• Compile and submit reports on irrigated areas.
• Compile and submit daily labour attendance reports.
• Monitor field operations and ensure adherence to established safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 ‘O’ Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Diploma / Certificate in Agriculture or a related field.
• Proven and traceable experience in sugarcane farming or commercial crop production.
• Good understanding of sugarcane production practices and field operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.
